Wednesday Video: The Power of Thought. Really.

This video from has been making the Internet rounds for the last week or so. “Impressive” is an understatement.

The star is Cathy Hutchinson, a lady who has had quadriplegia for 15 years and cannot speak, either. We see how new technology makes it possible for her to control a robotic arm with her thoughts to pick up a cup of coffee and drink from it. Look at the delight on her face! Puts many things into perspective.

  1. i think if they can convert that to a wireless approach, a lot of folks can then get help atr homes………what a neat thing to watch………

  2. wow. what a thing. there are some things about our world that are sooo wonderful. I love the look on her face and the guy’s in the background.

  3. Wow, that’s wonderful. I remember seeing the embryonic technology for this kind of thing on TV as a kid – it’s fantastic to see it progress now to the point where it’s actually working – albeit as a huge, ungainly prototype, but it’s actually doing what they hoped.

But will everyone who needs it be able to afford it?
